Behind every traveler is a story

Behind every passionate traveler is a story.

I’m a girl who believes hard work turns dreams into reality. Raised in Germany with Eritrean roots, I’ve called sunny Barcelona home for 8 years. I’m a marketer passionate about helping others and exploring the world.

In 2010, a few months in Australia changed everything. Before that, I’d only been to five countries. That trip opened my mind and sparked my love for solo travel. I learned you don’t need a lot of money or someone by your side to discover the world. Traveling solo with confidence changed my life.

The Most Remote Place I've Been

1

Antarctica ❄️

Imagine standing in a place where the only locals are penguins… that was my morning commute in Antarctica. The icebergs were so huge, they made me feel like a tiny dot in the middle of nowhere (in the best way).

Greenland 🏔️

Greenland is basically Mother Nature showing off… glaciers, fjords, and skies that don’t need Instagram filters. The air felt so fresh, I swear I added five years to my life just by breathing.

Galápagos Islands 🐢

In the Galápagos, I walked with giant tortoises who clearly didn’t care about my personal space and I loved it. Sea lions napped on benches like they owned the place (spoiler: they do). Every island felt like a surprise.

Why Flight Mode Feven?

The name symbolizes two things: The passion for travel and the desire to disconnect from daily life. When I use my phone’s flight mode, I either fly or seek calm during a stressful day.

Why a Blog about solo female travel?

I’ve always loved exploring new places and sharing my solo travel experiences. So I combined both by sharing my travel stories on Instagram. What started as a hobby quickly turned into something more when women began asking: How do you travel alone? How do you afford it? Now, I share what I’ve learned to help and inspire you to travel too.

What can you expect from my blog?

You’ll find inspiration, tips, and a little travel magic: No matter if you’re just starting or already traveling solo

I share resources, stories from the road, and everything you need to feel confident, safe, and empowered to explore.

2010

My First Big Trip

Before 2010, I hadn’t seen much of the world, just a few  countries. That changed when I traveled to Australia for the first time. I spent a couple of months there, and it completely shifted my world. It sparked a fire in me. A passion for discovering new places and cultures.

The Travel Bug Took Over

Once I got back, I realized something: I didn’t need to be rich to see the world, just resourceful. I cut down on shopping and redirected my money to what made me feel alive: travel. I learned how to travel on a budget and how to go solo without fear.

2016

Moved to Barcelona, Spain

My love for exploring led me to leave Germany and move to sunny Barcelona for what I thought would be a three-month Erasmus internship. Fast-forward to today: I’ve been here for over eight years. Barcelona became my home base, full of international vibes that keep me inspired.

From 5 Countries to All 7 Continents

When I left for Australia, I had only visited five countries. By 2024, I had officially stepped foot on every continent. The last one being Antarctica. From climbing volcanoes to skydiving, from ancient cities to sacred sites like Jerusalem, each journey has shaped who I am.
